The TMAGgots are back with - No Stranger to Tasmania
The TMAGgots are thrilled to invite you to join Ms Jane Stewart, Principal Curator of Art @ TMAG, to view and hear reflections on David Keeling’s exhibition Stranger on the evening of Thursday 3rd December 2020.
Interested then please RSVP to confirm your place and meet us at the Watergate at 5.45pm (Dunn Place car park entrance). We will congregate there and then move into the museum together for a prompt start at 6.00pm.
The exhibition title refers to an unsettling presence – a stranger – in nearly every one of Keeling’s landscapes which have been ‘invaded’ by unfamiliar people and objects. This exhibition is a part of TMAG’s series recognising Living Tasmanian Artists on the eve of David’s 70th year.
David Keeling: Stranger (Exhibition showing 20 Nov 2020 – 14 Feb 2021). Stranger is a major exhibition celebrating the work of critically acclaimed Tasmanian artist David Keeling, who has spent nearly 40 years exploring Tasmania and its narratives, past and present. Located in the Argyle Galleries @ the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
Cost for this event is $5.00 for our Financial Members and $7.50 for non-members. Numbers are limited, so please RSVP ASAP.
If time allows, please join us afterwards at the Hope and Anchor at 7:30 for a drink, a bite to eat and a reflective chat of David Keeling’s Stranger and our event No Stranger to Tasmania.
Please be mindful that we are being Covid-safe and all will be expected to practice social distancing on the evening.
To register, just go to www.tmaggots.org.au and follow the prompts.
