Insights into a Festival & our AGM

The TMAGgots are thrilled to have been able to arrange to have Travis Tiddy (Artistic & Founding Director of The Unconformity) join us on Tuesday, 22 September 2020 to speak on what it's like to run a festival in Tasmania.

Travis conceived the Queenstown Heritage & Arts Festival as a way to engage this local community on the rugged West Coast in the arts, and its history and heritage, while also attracting visitors to the festival and the town.

Over the past decade it has evolved to become The Unconformity, and help to give Queenstown and the West Coast a national and international profile for the creative, innovative and personalised experience the festival now offers.

How do you conceive a festival of this nature, let alone make it happen and then continue. How do you decide how you let it evolve and what are some of the challenges involved, both predictable and not so readily predictable.

Find out the answers to these questions and ask you own at this unique event.

Travis will be our guest speaker at the start of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2019-20. Stay on, after he's spoken, to join in the formalities of our low-key AGM, as we hear updates for the year that's gone.

We are still feeling the effects of COVID-19 and we'll be sure to practice social distancing, but we're really keen to see if some of our members are interested in joining our committee and help us craft our upcoming events.

We'd love to hear your ideas for future events, in a post-COVID world.

We'll finish up a bit after 7.00pm, and those that are interested can stay on for a casual meal. We'll place our orders for dinner after Travis has spoken around 6.30pm. Interested in coming along then please RSVP on our website.

Any questions, you can buzz our Chief MAGgot on 0423 774 059.
