It’s Dark Mofo time! - We have an excellent opportunity to take in a tour at the TMAG then meet afterwards for a drink or disappear into the night walking the Dark Park and/or imbibe in the Winter Feast.
Tense Past is a major exhibition by significant Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Julie Gough. It interrogates colonial history and the impact of colonisation on Tasmania’s first people—then and now.
As well as including some key artworks from Gough’s 25 years of practice, including sculpture, sound and video installations, Julie has created new site-specific artworks that engage with artefacts from major collections from across the country.
The TMAGgots had an opportunity to see her last exhibition ‘Missing 2011’ which was very emotive and informative. If you're interested then please RSVP ASAP and meet Naomi and Tess on Friday, 14 June 2019 at 5.50pm on the Argyle Street steps entry of TMAG to participate in a 6.00pm tour of the exhibition with Dr Mary Knights.
Enjoy Dark Mofo and watch out for some great events over Winter.
