You are invited to Come Herald Dark MoFo
Come & start your evening of rugged-up Winter wonder, delight & even the unexpected, as we prepare to explore Hobart's waterfront after dark.
Our taster to your fascinating evening begins from 4.00pm in the TMAG's exclusive member's lounge, opposite the Cafe via the TMAG Courtyard.
Join us as we ease ourselves into the weekend with a relaxing drink (a complimentary drink in fact for TMAGgots Financial Members) & nibble.
We'll then gather & venture into the depths of the TMAG by 5.15pm for a guided gallery tour of the unique exhibition - A Journey to Freedom.
A Journey to Freedom is TMAG's main contribution to Dark MoFo, which explores issues related to incareration, from Tasmania & beyond.
Presented by Dark Mofo, MONA and the TMAG - This exhibition reflects the story of the human condition as one of emancipation—and incarceration. With Swiss curator Barbara Polla at the helm, this new exhibition at TMAG breaks open ideas of imprisonment and ‘doing time’—from the psychological and social prisons we construct for ourselves and others to physical confinement in spaces like jails and detention centres. Curated by Barbara Polla with Olivier Varenne and Mary Knights
It's an exhibition of contemporary art that (rumor has it) may contain some rather adult-concepts, so please, no guests under 16 years.
It's enlightening curator/s will guide us through the exhibition and you'll be out in heaps of time so you're ready to explore Dark Park & the Winter Fest.
Numbers are limited, so get in early, with beanies in tow.
